About the Limner's CottageThe Limner's Cottage was begun in 1997 as a sole proprietorship by George H. Schaab, Jr.. In 2004 the business was incorporated to include his wife Joanna Herr Schaab.Joanna and George have resided in Bath , Maine since 1979. George is a science teacher at Morse High School , as well as an artist and illustrator. George began collecting antiques and studying history as a teenager. His special antique interests include historical portraits and folk portraits. George's own art tends to reflect his scientific interests. Joanna has special interests in early American primitives, antique mechanical devices and antique toys. Born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, Joanna is attracted to a variety of Pennsylvania arts including fraktur. |
